Conference Abstract
The first event will take place in Amsterdam at the VU University Medical Center. This conference will revolve around the role of small and large sequence variation such as polymorphisms, segmental duplications, CNVs and SNPs, deletions and chromosomal rearrangements. The event will play a crucial role in the integration and discussions relating to methodological aspects of emerging array, sequencing and (post-)genomic technologies for the study of the human genome variations. Arrays are being developed that further increase genome resolution. This further facilitates the analysis of genome variation between individuals and allows for the development of diagnostic tools for patient tailored medicine. The conference will highlight and discuss collection and processing of sequence variation of many individuals, the clinical relevance of structural or chromosomal variations or variable genetic profiles, which will be illustrated by recent findings for cancer, constitutional and communicable diseases.
