Criteria for participation and/or funding
The MC-GARD meetings are sponsored by the European Community and specifically aim to stimulate participation of junior scientists.
Abstracts will be rated by 2-3 members of the Scientific Committee, together with the
conference guidelines below eligibility will be decided upon.
- "Early-stage researchers"1 (maximum 80): with an accepted abstract for poster or oral communication (either as presenting or accompanying author): complete reimbursement; participation fee, accommodation and travel costs
- "Experienced researchers"2 (maximum 18) with an accepted abstract for oral communication (either as presenting or accompanying author): complete reimbursement; participation fee, accommodation and travel costs
- "Senior researchers"3 (maximum 27) Invited speakers and scientific committee members
- "Reseachers non-eligible for funding" (maximum 25) With an accepted abstract poster or oral communication (either as presenting or accompanying author): no reimbursements, registration fee Euro 250 or Euro 350 for industrial delegates. Includes lunches, dinners and social events.

- ≥ 45% female
- ≥ 90% participants from Member States or Associated States*
- ≥ 15 participants from outside Member States or Associated States*
- ≤ 20% participants per state
- ≤ 4 participants/institute- Note: Use institutional e-mail addresses for registration and all correspondence
Workshop guidelines; The criteria for the workshops are the same as for the conferences. However, less researchers can be accomodated for those hands-on workshops and "accompanying" authors not considered. Additional selection criteria towards (financial) eligibility will encompass motivation and support. 1meaning PhD students who are in their first 4 years (full-time equivalent) of his/her research activity, since gaining a university (or equivalent institution of higher education) degree.
2meaning PhD students or postdocs with at least 4 years and less than 10 years of research experience (full-time equivalent), since gaining a university (or equivalent institution of higher education) degree.
3researchers with more than 10 years research experience
